Museum

We preserve the archaeological heritage for future generations.

The Archaeological Museum of Prizzi, established in 1999 thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality and the Superintendency of Palermo, is located in the historic centre, in Corso Umberto I in the Town Hall, the beating heart of the city.

Since its inauguration in 2000, the museum has been a cultural centre in the city, a place for transmitting the value and awareness of the territory’s archaeological wealth to future generations, particularly the archaeological area of the Montagna dei Cavalli (Hippana).

The municipality was committed to the establishment of a museum dedicated to archaeology that could preserve and display what had been saved from the neglect of time and human action.
